Background

SUWA Makato was born in 1977. He joined JAXA in July 2023. After basic training as an astronaut candidate, he was certified as a JAXA astronaut in October 2024. He is currently training for his assignment. Nominated as a crew member for a long-duration mission aboard the ISS, scheduled for launch around 2027. Currently training for the long-duration mission aboard the ISS.
