The Asian Try Zero G 2025 (ATZ-G 2025) is looking for space experiments to be conducted in the Japanese Experiment Module ‘Kibo’ around 2025-2026 from students in Asian countries/region.

*The last Asian Trial Zero G was conducted by JAXA Astronaut Furukawa in 2023. Click here to see a video of the event

We are looking forward to receiving unique proposals from students, such as those who have ideas for experiments, they would like to try in space. We also welcome those who have applied in the past and would like to try again with a refined version of their proposal.

This is a rare opportunity to have your experiment conducted by an astronaut on the International Space Station! Please give the Asian Try Zero G mission a try!!

Asian Try Zero G Overview

The Asian Try Zero G is conducted by the responsible organizations of the member countries/region of the Asian Beneficial Collaboration through “Kibo” Utilization (Kibo-ABC) *1 that wish to participate. Participating organizations will each publicly call for experiment themes in their respective countries/region, conduct an initial selection, and then conduct a final selection with all participating organizations. The selected experiment themes will be conducted on Kibo.
In the previous Asian Try Zero-G, there were 245 experiment theme applications from 9 countries/region, and 16 experiment themes were selected to be conducted on Kibo.
*1 Kibo-ABC is an initiative established by the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF) with the aim of promoting the use of Kibo in the Asia-Pacific region. By conducting multinational projects like Asian Try Zero G, we aim to deepen our understanding of space, enhance the experience of each participating space agency, and foster bilateral cooperation projects with Japan.

Comments from some students who participated in the program last time (Original)

  • Thank you for giving me this opportunity! I enjoyed it and I learned so many things!
  • I was very satisfied with the valuable experience.
  • I was nervous, but it was something that I don’t often experience, and I was able to see Astronaut Furukawas experiments, so I was satisfied.
  • I'm so delighted and really appreciate this opportunity. It is a memorable experience of my life.
  • I really enjoyed this very valuable experience of being connected to the universe. It was also good to be able to communicate with people from other countries.
  • I will use the knowledge and skills I learned from participating in ATZ-G for my future study and work, which could be related to microgravity.
Participating in the Asian Try Zero G is a great opportunity to gain experience that will help you achieve your career and future dreams!
We hope you'll join us.
