On December 18, 2023, the following 2 CubeSats will be deployed from the Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo”.

BEAK

BEAK is jointly developed by the University of Tokyo, Nippon University, and JAXA.

Clark sat-1

Clark sat-1 is provided by the J-SSOD service provider, Space BD Inc.

The deployment event for those satellites by J-SSOD#27 will be broadcast via YouTube JAXA Channel.

【Mission】 Demonstration of the following technologies for nano-sized planetary probes in the future:
  • Orbital maneuvering by drag modulation with jettison of aerodynamic decelerator (SAP’s and membrane),
  • Deployment of aeroshell supported by shape memory alloy frames,
  • Operation demonstration of nano-sized propulsion system (water resistojet),
  • Nano-sized attitude control system.

  • The satellite will send voice messages and image data recorded by high school students themselves to ground control stations and general amateur stations.
  • These data will encourage organizations and individuals working on environmental issues on Earth and in space.
  • In addition, take photos of the Earth and will downlink them to ground control stations and general amateur stations.
