The Minus Eightys Degree Celsius Laboratory Freezer for the International Space Station (MELFI)

General Description
In order to conduct space experiments in life science and biotechnology, experiment samples, relevant medicines and so on, often need to be maintained at low temperatures on orbit. The Minus Eighty Degrees Celsius Laboratory Freezer for the International Space Station (MELFI) will be installed in Kibo to meet this requirement. MELFI has four dewars to accommodate and keep samples at a temperature of minus 80 degrees, minus 26 degrees or plus 4 degrees.
