: May 2012 Soyuz TMA-04M (30S) Launch - September 2012 Soyuz TMA-04M (30S) Return

The eighth Area PADLES dosimeter was launched onto the ISS by Soyuz TMA-04M (30S). A total of 17 Area PADLES dosimeters were installed, 12 in Pressurized Module (PM) and 5 in Experiment Logistics Module-Pressurized Section (ELM-PS).

The newly installed eighth dosimeters measured the dose of radiation for 4 months.

NASA astronaut Donald pettit as an ISS Expedition 31 crew installed the Area PADLES 8 dosimeter in Kibo.

JAXA astronaut Akihiko Hoshide as an ISS Expedition 32/33 crew uninstalled the Area PADLES 8 dosimeter in Kibo.
